Starting Over! - Kinda

WELL! Long time, no see. Life has been crazy, well is crazy right now. I've decided to create another blog on a different platform. I didn't quite like where this one was going. This blog had become very frustrating for me. I was stressing myself out, expecting too much of myself, and was disappointed everytime I turned around. I was definitely comparing myself to others (bloggers).  The new blog is less stress (Hopefully. That's the point.) I will be writing about any and everything, not just food. I hope one day I will learn enough to come back and make this blog what it was intended to be. You guys have been great! Don't give up on me!

I'm Confused! Rant

Hello! How are you guys? As we all know I just really decided to try to come back to blogging. This was not an easy decision for me. Am I full on headfirst into it like many others? No. Life is happening now and I'm still trying to ease my way back and/or deciding if this is right for me. Either way, this is the deal. When I stopped completely and gave up, I was surprised to see that SO MANY people were visiting my site. Now that I am "back" my numbers have dropped drastically. What in the Sam Houston is going on? That question is kinda sorta rhetorical. And, yes, I know you need to have thick skin "in this business" but it's discouraging as hell. I know I need to focus and find a direction but wow! Some parts of me want to completely start over on another platform. Another part of me feels like what's the point. You would think it would be easy to sit at home and type... No! This was a dream of mine/ours and now, I don't know. I find myself pre

"Asian Night"

I decided to try baking the eggrolls this time because frying them turned into a burnt disaster! Again, I know what I did wrong this time as well. Were these a disaster? No, but there was a ton of room for improvement. I followed the recipe for the filling last time (which I will not do again). The recipe is fine, it just didn't work for me. I used all of the ingredients that they said I needed but I put them together my own way. I did not measure, just to taste. In addition to baked egg rolls, we had Chicken and Broccoli Stir-Fry (I added shrimp to it, for me). First, I doubled the sauce because I thought the noodles would have soaked up the extra liquid, especially because I had twice what the recipe called for. Secondly, The Lil Chef overcooked the noodles (no worries, she is still learning).  It's ok because I LOVE extra sauce on almost everything! And, the stir-fry turned out really really good. When I make it again, I'll still double the sauce but only add the "

Brandless Pancake Update!

This was my post/review on Instagram for those of you who are not on Instagram. 3/10/18 #CookingWithMommy #Breakfast  - OK so literally like yesterday or something I put up the post with the  #Brandless   #MapleSyrup  and I said that I haven't been able to find what I was looking for as far as  #Pancakes  right? Right! Like no BS... These pancakes 🥞 taste like REAL pancakes! These are not gritty, thin, flimsy, mushy, bland or just downright weird. Can you tell we've tried 10 billion types of  #GF   pancakes /mixes? I actually ate like all of my pancakes before I touched my 🥓. The Lil Chef made no noise which meant it was good! I am beyond impressed! I used  #SoDelicious   #AlmondMilk  with cashews and  #CoconutOil  for the milk and oil part. I also used coconut oil for "fry" them in. I'm happy 😊, I don't feel sick to my stomach and that's a really big thing for me! Thank you Brandless! https://www.instagram.com/p/BgJ3KWGhr1w/ These pan

Homemade Gluten Free Egg Rolls

Everything started off so promising. I actually don't know where the exact problem was because... I made an egg roll in a spring wrapper before and it worked. There are a few things that I feel like I could have done differently but it's too late now. We're going to try again tomorrow but we're baking them! You live and you learn. Please don't be discouraged. Homemade egg rolls are the best. We made a fairly large batch in January, I believe and they were great! That time I used Rp Pasta's (they've recently changed their name to Taste Republic)  lasagna sheets. I got that hack from Pinterest.  If I EVER try that again, I might roll it out a little thinner and wider. I'm not giving up on my Egg rolls yet!  I'll be back with updates tomorrow on the 🥞, (I'm too tired to get into the details right now. I do have a post up on Instagram under the user name cooking.with_mommy if you want to see my review)  Baked Egg rolls and catch you guys up on some

Brandless

Hello 👋🏾, how are you guys? I'm trying to put my foot in the door 🚪 . I'm trying to ease back into this "blogger situation. I will start with a Company that is new to me. (This blog post like ALL the others are NOT sponsored... Though that would be nice. 😏) I saw the ad for this company several times on various social media sites and really never paid it any attention... Because I don't care for ads. The ad that caught my attention included the fact that for every however much they donate a meal 🍴. I personally like companies that care about the world 🗺, whether it's recycling ♻ (that's a huge plus ➕ for me), donating food 🍲, water, clothes, etc. Another big plus for me was the fact that everything is Organic. I do not on any level agree with GMOs. In addition to those awesome stats...... (which took me forever to believe) EVERYTHING IS ONLY $3!!!! Please tell me where are you going to find organic products for $3?! It took about a month for me to sa

Long Time, No See!!!

Hey! How are you guys? I took a break, a really long break away form my blog because I got majorly discouraged. Life was happening, the blog wasn't going in the direction I thought it would, and I have to admit it was a little more complicated and difficult than I imagined. Someone contacted me recently who had visited my site. I had no idea anyone still came to visit. She and a few others recently suggested that I not give up.  I'm just not sure what to do with this. I spend the majority of my time on Instagram and Facebook (on CookingWithMommy - of course).  *Should I make it more "blog-like"? *Should I keep doing what I was doing before? (*I'm actually thinking about updating some of the recipes that I've done before. So many things have changed.) *Should I catch you guys up? Or should I start over from scratch? *Should I switch from blogger and put the blog on a different platform/blog site?  *Should I use this blog as an outlet for all of the st
