The veggie burger formula Every time I find a veggie burger I really like, the store discontinues it! I think I'm ready to start making my own! Here are a few suggestions I found (the other recipes are on the original website) Ingredients: 1  pound can of beans, drained and rinsed, or 1.5 cups cooked beans ( suggestions: your favorite bean! ) (I'm not sure I would use beans)  1/2 cup chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 2 cups diced veggies ( suggestions: carrots, celery, mushrooms, chopped spinach, chopped kale, corn, chopped artichokes, zucchini, squash, sweet potato ) 2 teaspoons + 2 tablespoons oil for frying ( suggestions:   olive, coconut, grapeseed ) 3 tablespoons liquid flavor ( mix and match suggestions: GF mustard, ketchup, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, vegan worcestershire, buffalo sauce, balsamic vinegar, salsa, pasta sauce, marsala, water ) 4 teaspoons spice ( we recommend combining at least two: smoked paprika, cumin, chili powder, italian sea...

Homemade Taco Seasoning #1 & #2

I seriously suggest making all of your seasonings. Even the Gluten Free seasonings from the store aren't so clean. Here's one version of homemade taco seasoning I found on Pinterest.            Recipe borrowed from  http://www.thecountrycook.net/2015/06/homemade-taco-seasoning.html This is another version of homemade taco seasoning also from Pinterest. This one has a little more kick. This taco spice mix recipe is quick and easy plus you can customize it to make it more spicy or less spicy. The recipe below is not spicy, to add more zing add more chili powder and red pepper to yours. This can also be a taco seasoning packet mix replacement for ground beef etc. (ground turkey or chicken) 1 Tablespoon chili powder 1 Tablespoon garlic powder 1 Teaspoon ground cumin 1 Teaspoon paprika 1 Teaspoon onion powder 1/2 Teaspoon oregano 1/4 Teaspoon salt (kosher salt) 1/4 Teaspoon black pepper 1/4 Teaspoon crushed red pepper f...

We made the Homemade Laundry Detergent

Ok, so I finally got around to making the laundry detergent...yayyy! I told you guys I was going to use some misc. bars of soap I had left over. My only concern is that the smells might not mix, I don't know. It does not smell bad...but! I have washed everything in the house prior to last night so I have nothing to experiment on to see how this will work. And technically if it works or not I have a ton of it so we'll be using it lol! As far as the amount, I do not believe it made as much as the original recipe but I did not use sprinkles either. The link for the original recipe will be at the bottom of the page.  I wish you could see the colors better. It's like ombre. It's 2 shades of blue and purple. My container from Dollar General! I layered the the powders with the bar soap shavings, it was 10 million times prettier in person!    The Lil Chef playing in the "sand" All mixed (and of course you guys can't see the...

Trying Something New... Homemade Laundry Detergent

Homemade Laundry Detergent Ok SO... let me tell you how I got to this point. I mentioned the Molly's Suds Laundry detergent I used the other day, today I used or am using the dryer balls. I was curious so I went to the website just to look around, doing some pricing... I read the ingredients on the package and figured I can do this as well. (Sidenote, my mom has been making her own detergent for little over a year now and yes she did suggest that I do the same but at the time it seemed like a bit much... I wasn't ready. Ok now I'm ready) Of course I Googled DIY Laundry Detergent  and this particular entry caught my eye. My mom said this recipe is very similar to the one she uses. I hope to no one's surprise I am going to switch a few things around just a bit. As I stated in an earlier blog post ( The Disclaimer ) you are free to follow the recipe as is. I am all about environment, recycling, saving the...
