Thistle...

I almost passed up this opportunity!

I mentioned in my other (one of my other) blog posts that "life" kept happening! As it usually does!

I just happen to go back & review my invitations (on this platform for brands, yada) & Thistle stood out to me. I told my daughter that I didn't want to start something that I couldn't finish. I'm all ready to my limit with brands, trying to figure out what direction I want to go in with several of them. I don't know what it was, Thistle was really intriguing to me.

I can't remember if it was the day of (12/14) or the day after (12/15) my surgery, I received an email from Thistle. The VERY company that I had looked at again not too long ago!

8:28pm - On paper, we are a match made in heaven! Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Plant Forward, Organic (whenever possible), environmentally sustainable, sustainable sourcing, in addition to local sourcing!!! Like, this is ALL me! If I were a company this would pretty much be my description. 😂

Outside of the food portion, I love what they call their "Community Approach"

From their website, this is what they had to say -

"A Community Approach

Our bottom line is measured not only by profits but also our impact on people and our planet. We build partnerships with local organizations and find ways to give back to the communities we work with."

I REALLY like when companies are not all about the bottom line!

Ok! back to food!
You have the option of Vegan or not.
I love all of the details on the website. If you're new, there is a tab for you. Want to know where your food comes from? There's a tab for that. Recipes/meal hacks or just want to know what's going on with other people in the Thistle community? There's a tab for that too!

Thistle started on the West Coast, and expanded to the East Coast... but unfortunately forgot about ME -  in the middle. The midwest. You guys (East and West) will have to try it and let me know how you like it!

And, just because I can't eat it doesn't mean I can't save you money! Speaking of money (this is the part I like the most!) if for any reason you need to pause, postpone, or stop your subscription - it's not a problem! That is awesome!!! My money absolutely does NOT flow the way I need it to, so having options is a HUGE Plus!

Anyway, back to me saving YOU money!
You can use the link in this post or use my code CWM100 at a later time on their website. Using my code or clicking the link will give you $100 off for the 1st 4 weeks!

Ok, as I wrap this up... if nothing else, I'm really sad that I don't have access to the cold-pressed juices and shots. ☹

It's ok, I'm confident the midwest will make so much noise that Thistle will have no choice but to come to our region! We like to be healthy as well!

Homemade Taco Sauce

This is nice and uncomplicated! You know the only thing I'd change is the salt and make it kosher, other than that this recipe is clean. I haven't made it yet but I will the next time I need taco sauce! Homemade things are better!

Homemade Seasonings

I found this on Pinterest. Several things I do miss about being allergy free. So happy they can be duplicated at home Make sure the minced onions are JUST onions. I personally would use kosher salt. Use raw sugar. Instead of sour cream use 0% greek yogurt.

Hough Bakery - butter cookies

Hough Bakery By  Gail Greenberg   &   Diane Rolfe Hough Bakery was an integral  part of me and my family's lives, (most people in Cleveland for that matter) I was heartbroken when they closed. I have  always remembered the cookies and doughnuts from this magical bakery. Their products were like nothing I had ever had before (and it was extra  magical because I was so little/young) I have been searching for about 30 years for something similar - no luck... but, thank goodness there are a few recipes floating around the internet! Unfortunately  even with Archie's being open, my food afflictions will not allow  me to enjoy those old time favorites. Luckily, converting is what I do and that's what this site is about so I  will switch some things  around and see how it turns out! The recipe below is just ONE of my all time favorites, please enjoy! Memories of a signature blue-and-white, string-tied cake box filled with a streusel coffee cake, hot cross buns, stick
