Bacon & Caramelized Onion Greek Yogurt Topping 
On Thanksgiving we tend to think dinner...what about the rest of the day? Of course no one ever really wants fill up prior to dinner time so why not have h'orderves? Have this dip with chips, pretzels, veggies, pitas, etc. (or whatever your diet allows)
I will definitely make this one day! this looks so good!!!    
Makes about 1 cup for 8 servings

Directions


  1. In small skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy; transfer to paper towel to drain.
  2. Pour off all but 2 teaspoons fat from skillet and return to medium-low heat; add onions and sugar and cook slowly, stirring often, for about 10 minutes or until onions are tender, translucent and deeply colored.
  3. Transfer onions to small bowl. Chop or crumble bacon and add to onions, along with yogurt; stir everything together and season with salt and pepper. Use right away or cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

This is nice and uncomplicated! You know the only thing I'd change is the salt and make it kosher, other than that this recipe is clean. I haven't made it yet but I will the next time I need taco sauce! Homemade things are better!

I found this on Pinterest. Several things I do miss about being allergy free. So happy they can be duplicated at home Make sure the minced onions are JUST onions. I personally would use kosher salt. Use raw sugar. Instead of sour cream use 0% greek yogurt.
