Creamy Garlic Penne Pasta



Ingredients Serves 6

1 box (1 lb) penne pasta, cooked as directed, drained and kept hot (GF Penne) 
2 tbsp butter, or margarine (Smart Balance)
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp flour (GF Flour Blend)
34 cup chicken broth, or beef broth (I'd use GF YF chicken broth)
34 cup milk (non-dairy milk or lactose free)
2 tsp dried parsley
13 cup parmesan cheese, grated (0% milkfat)
1 salt, to taste (Kosher salt)
1 pepper, to taste

Directions

  • Prep 10 min
  • Cook 5 min
  • Ready 15 min
  1. In a medium sauce pan, melt butter or margarine and add garlic.
  2. Cook over medium heat for 1 minute.
  3. Add flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  4. Stir in broth and milk and cook, stirring frequently, until sauce boils and thickens.
  5. Add parsley, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese.
  6. Stir until cheese is melted.
  7. Toss hot pasta with sauce and serve immediately.

This is nice and uncomplicated! You know the only thing I'd change is the salt and make it kosher, other than that this recipe is clean. I haven't made it yet but I will the next time I need taco sauce! Homemade things are better!

I found this on Pinterest. Several things I do miss about being allergy free. So happy they can be duplicated at home Make sure the minced onions are JUST onions. I personally would use kosher salt. Use raw sugar. Instead of sour cream use 0% greek yogurt.
