Stress Shopping 12/19/15

Stress Shopping!
Saturday (12/19/15)

I was supposed to be getting the rest of what I needed to make Christmas dinner and I think what set me off was that I could NOT find the Canyon Bakehouse items that I needed. I went to every place that I know that sells them, no luck! There were a few other "normal" items that I needed that I couldn't find, I totally was not thinking about Christmas and didn't think everyone and their second cousin would be outside, it was crazy!
By the time we got to Giant Eagle I needed SOMETHING! So thank you Pamela's for your GF Figgies and Jammies they are so GOOD!!!
It was the hardest thing ever to find just regular Lay's Salt and Vinegar Chips, go figure. I finally got them.

We have been on a search and destroy mission (well The Lil Chef has) for months for the Kettle Popcorners! We finally found them.

Wholefoods didn't even have everything I was looking for. But!... I'm so happy that they now sell single cans ("Tall Girls") of Zevia*. I have my Root Beer and Cream Soda for my floats for New Year's Eve.

We are trying for the first time the Rudi's Cinnamon Raisin Bread, Lactaid Holiday Nog, & 0% Reddi Whip.

We like it! It's been so long!

Raisin Bread and Holiday Nog

This is Very Very Good!!! It literally tastes like liquid vanilla ice cream!

This actually tastes like liquid pumpkin pie!

*Zevia is a no-calorie soda that is made with 100 percent natural ingredients. Zevia natural soda is sweetened with a botanical sweetener that has been used for hundreds of years. It does not contain any gluten, caffeine, sodium or sugar.

Homemade Taco Sauce

This is nice and uncomplicated! You know the only thing I'd change is the salt and make it kosher, other than that this recipe is clean. I haven't made it yet but I will the next time I need taco sauce! Homemade things are better!

Hough Bakery - butter cookies

Hough Bakery By  Gail Greenberg   &   Diane Rolfe Hough Bakery was an integral  part of me and my family's lives, (most people in Cleveland for that matter) I was heartbroken when they closed. I have  always remembered the cookies and doughnuts from this magical bakery. Their products were like nothing I had ever had before (and it was extra  magical because I was so little/young) I have been searching for about 30 years for something similar - no luck... but, thank goodness there are a few recipes floating around the internet! Unfortunately  even with Archie's being open, my food afflictions will not allow  me to enjoy those old time favorites. Luckily, converting is what I do and that's what this site is about so I  will switch some things  around and see how it turns out! The recipe below is just ONE of my all time favorites, please enjoy! Memories of a signature blue-and-white, string-tied cake box filled with a streusel coffee cake, hot cross buns, stick

Homemade Seasonings

I found this on Pinterest. Several things I do miss about being allergy free. So happy they can be duplicated at home Make sure the minced onions are JUST onions. I personally would use kosher salt. Use raw sugar. Instead of sour cream use 0% greek yogurt.
